Tree Service in Dunnellon, FL

Dunnellon sits at the confluence of the Withlacoochee and Rainbow Rivers in Marion County, surrounded by rolling terrain thick with live oaks, slash pine, and cypress along the riverbanks. Properties here range from quarter-acre lots in Rainbow Springs Country Club to multi-acre wooded sites in Rainbow Lakes Estates, and the tree canopy reflects decades of growth on sandy-over-limestone soil. That soil type drains fast but gives large oaks shallow root systems, which means limbs and whole trees can shift or lean toward structures over time. The owner of this company grew up doing lawn care in Rainbow Springs, so this is home ground.

Tree Service

Rooted in Rainbow Springs, Ready for Your Property

This business started in Rainbow Springs, so the crew has worked on the same types of properties you own. The rolling terrain near the Rainbow River means tree access can be tight, with root systems that run toward the water. We know how to work around that without tearing up your yard.

Homes in Rainbow Springs Country Club and The Woodlands subdivision were built mostly between 1974 and the early 2000s. Trees planted at the same time as those homes are now mature, and many have grown into roof overhangs or fence lines. Trimming them back correctly keeps the tree healthy and your structure safe.

We answer the phone at all hours, and one of our managers is on every job site. When you call about a leaning pine or a limb over your roof, you get a real answer fast. Estimates are done the same day you reach out, so you are never left waiting on a callback.

Every service, available in Dunnellon, FL

Tree trimming is the most requested service in Dunnellon because the live oaks and laurel oaks on residential lots grow fast in the humid river corridor and push branches toward rooflines and power lines. Tree removal is common on the larger wooded lots in Rainbow Lakes Estates, where pine trees planted close to homes in the 1970s and 1980s have outgrown their space. Stump grinding follows most removals here because the sandy soil makes stumps easy to grind below grade, clearing the way for sod or replanting. Land clearing is also in demand as new owners take on overgrown acreage parcels along the county roads west of town.

I have used Browns Tree Service 3 times in the past 3+ years. They were initially recommended to me by a neighbor. Recently I hired them to do some extensive tree work. It was an all day job removing some serious tree growth that could become a threat to our home, especially considering another hurricane season is approaching. The crew arrived when scheduled and went right to work. I had some concern that they could damage my lawn with their motorized equipment. Owner, Trevor Brown assured me they would put down large rubber pads to protect our lawn and it worked like a charm. His crew, Brandon, Ray, Ron and Cory went right to work and did an incredible job cutting and carefully lowering huge limbs to preclude any damage. At the end of the day the entire job from start to finish was done in excellent fashion including some serious clean up. I can highly recommend Browns Tree service and I'm giving them a well deserved 5 star rating. Let me add that includes, what I considered, a very reasonable price. Thanks again Trevor and your entire crew for a great job… Len Smith, Dunnellon, Fl

We recently needed to have two trees removed from our property. I secured two bids for the work, one of those bids was from Trevor Brown. We chose Brown's Tree Service for two reasons. The first reason was on the recommendation from a neighbor who had had some extensive work done last year. The second reason is Trevor's assurance that his workers would put down protective rubber mats on our lawn as the machinery ran over it. The workers arrived on time, took the trees down, and completely cleaned up all remnants of the two trees. The next day one of his workers ground the two stumps to ground level. Based on our experience with Brown's Tree Service, I would highly recommend them to anyone needing tree work in the Dunnellon area

Tree Service FAQ for Dunnellon, FL

Common questions from Dunnellon, FL customers about our services, process, and coverage.

Live oaks along the Rainbow River corridor often have wide, spreading canopies and root systems that run toward the water table. Trimming them requires removing dead wood and crossing branches without cutting the main scaffold limbs, which keeps the tree structurally sound. Improper cuts on a mature live oak can leave large wounds that invite decay, so the work needs to be done right the first time.

Yes. Wooded lots in Rainbow Lakes Estates often have pines growing close together, which limits the drop zone for a felled tree. We section trees from the top down when the lot does not allow a full fell, bringing the wood down in manageable pieces. Stump grinding can follow the same visit to leave the ground ready for replanting or sod.

Sandy-over-limestone soil in the Dunnellon area makes stump grinding faster and cleaner than in clay-heavy areas. The grinder moves through the root flare without hitting dense clay, and the resulting mulch mixes back into the soil easily. This soil type also means stumps left in place can host fungal growth that spreads to nearby healthy trees, so grinding promptly after removal is a good practice.

Land clearing is a regular service on the rural parcels west of Dunnellon along county roads. Many of these lots have a mix of scrub oak, sand pine, and palmetto that has grown unchecked for years. We clear to the grade the owner needs, whether that is full clearing for a build site or selective clearing to open sight lines while keeping mature trees.
